POSTER COMPETITION

ALL THE STUDENTS REGISTERED FOR THE COURSE WHO DECIDE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE POSTER COMPETITION SHOULD BRING A PRINTED VERSION OF THEIR POSTER WITH DIMENSIONS OF 90 X 120 CM, TO DISPLAY DURING THE COURSE, IN THE PLACE DESIGNATED BY THE ORGANIZERS FOR THIS PURPOSE, AND SUBMIT THE DIGITAL FILE OF THE POSTER NO LATER THAN MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2024, 23:59, MONTERREY, MEXICO, TIME.

The digital file of the one-page poster must be made in a portrait format with height to width dimensions of 1.3-1, and should be sent in a file with a PNG extension (In the following link you will find a free app to convert your PDF file to a PNG file. https://pdf2png.com/), with a maximum size of 20 MB. If your file exceeds this size, but is not larger than 2GB, we suggest sending it via WeTransfer (https://wetransfer.com/). The information on the one-page poster must include:

  • Title
  • Names of author(s) and affiliated organization(s)
  • Abstract (brief summary of objectives, methods, results, and conclusions)
  • Background Information
  • Project Objectives
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results (tables, graphs, charts)
  • Conclusions

Academic institution logos, may be displayed on the poster. If the research presented was supported by a specific funding source, i.e., a grant or a company, a written acknowledgement of the funding source may be displayed but the logo will not be included on the poster.

Include all collaborators that contributed to the body of work in the author section. Consent from all collaborators is necessary prior to the poster competition. For this purpose, a supporting letter signed by the research advisor and all the collaborators will be required, and must be sent in free format together with the poster.

Prizes:

The competition will include three categories (best format, best technical content and best overall quality). For the best format and best technical content categories, the selection of the winners will be made by the course Professors, and the winner of the best overall category will be defined by the votes of the students. In total, the competition will award 7 prizes, one for the best overall quality and 3 for the best format and best technical content categories (gold, silver and bronze).The prize will consist of a certificate issued by the organizing committee and items provided by the course sponsors.
